    I’m just a user.

I do not know how or why software works (when it does). I do not know how or why software fails to work as intended (when it doesn’t). All I know is that when I called to seek assistance, I wasn’t able to resolve my software issue. The Adobe person referred me to Apple. The Apple tech was absolutely no help except to suggest that I take my MAC into an Apple Store and get one on one help (I live 125 miles from an Apple Store).

So now I have a worthless copy of Photoshop Elements 8 sitting on my shelf, and I use the limited functions of I Photo.

Once upon a time, I bought a MAC (512mb). . . Even though it was my first real computer, it was flawless in every way. I never had one issue with software or hardware. I was foolish to think that I’d have similar results 25 years later.

In closing, I’m a (limited) computer user who is unhappy with Adobe and MAC, and will communicate this as appropriate.

The Photoshop Elements 8 is a great way to make great PICs even better. The available options let you enhance your PICs, while fixing the weak areas.

So far, due to Thanksgiving and family visiting, have not tried the product yet.
Found out that for Mac one must insert the PSE disc, then drag the download file to the desktop, then REMOVE the disc, and finally used the file on the desktop to complete the download. If one does not, the Adobe downloader will not work ( this was what Adobe Support suggested and it worked ).
Will get up the courage to open the app, after the holidays, for it looks like it is, as is with most Adobe apps, very involved and will perform many operations.

I am so disappointed in this software. Unfortunately Microsoft does not make a Mac version of Picture It!, and I have a new MacBook and refuse to run Windows on it just to have one piece of software.

I like to make my own greeting cards and I could produce one in minutes using Picture It! With Adobe Photoshop Elements I had to search the internet just to find out how to produce the inside of a card. Their lousy instructions don’t give you a clue. The instructions came from someone in a Mac forum!!! Apparently I am not alone because I noticed in many forums this question arose quite a bit. How shortsighted can a company be that that they don’t give you simple instructions for a basic greeting card. I am still struggling with this product due to the lack of cohesive instructions. Most of the good reviews are from people that grew into this product over the years, but as a brand new user I am definitely not recommending it. I would love someone to give me some insight as to an easy greeting card software product for my Mac. So for now I guess I am doomed to learn this mess or else.

It begins with opening of the application. It takes awhile and you have to read the names of all technicians who were involved in creating this mess. Imagine that you get in your car, turn the key and than you would have to watch the screen displaying all the engineers who worked on the design of the car. After two minutes you would start driving. In another minute the car would stop, informing you that the engine failed and asking you for your inputs. Over and over. And if you want to learn the program you are taken to the most convoluted web site where you can find a lot of information, but usually not the one you are looking for. Adobe is the most incompetent software company around.
