This Adobe program is just as or better than the manufacturers descriptions & reviews! A name you can trust! A program that gets the job done easily and effortlessly! It’s so user friendly even my 8 year old had a blast with it!

I think there are two schools of thought on Premiere Elements 8, the latest version of the intuitive video editing tool from Adobe. For one group of folks–I’ll call them the “half-empties”–Premiere Elements 8 represents all that is bad about the software industry and Adobe in general. . . that this is a very slight upgrade to PE7, and if you already invested in that rev (and the one before that. . . and the one before that), you’re left wondering what you have to show–in terms of real video editing power–over, say the original program. Hey, “half-empties”, I feel your pain. When viewed SOLELY from that perspective, Premiere Elements 8 is not much of a bargain and there is very little reason to upgrade.
However. . .
For the rest of the world–we’ll call these folks the “half-fulls”, the REAL value of Premiere Elements 8 is the incredibly rich feature set, the elegantly simple user interface, and the wealth of content, add-ons, and tutorials (disc and online) that are yours for less than $100. If you’re looking to get into video editing or slide-show creation (or a 1,000 other potential visual projects), then there is no resource that can touch the value proposition offered by Adobe and Premiere Elements 8.
So the bottom line for “half-empties”? Skip the upgrade and hope Adobe puts a little more muscle into Premiere Elements 9.
And my “half-full” brethren? Grab a copy of Premiere Elements 8 and immerse yourself in this amazingly robust program!

This is a great program but don’t buy it if you have an old computer. It won’t run properly. Not the easiest thing to use but has great potential.

There is a learning curve to take full advantage of all the features in the software, but once you get the hang of it, it’s really nice. I haven’t had a crash or anything out of sync. You can get a lot more tracks and detail editing with Premiere Elements 8 than with the other products I’ve been using. There are some online tutorials that really help with learning the more advanced features and some of the small things that differ from similar products. It’s a great product and it’s less expensive than many other products that aren’t as full featured. I think it’s best for the average user. Beginners may find it a little intimidating and advanced users may. . . well, I can’t think of anything that anyone would need that’s not here. It’s worth the time to learn and it’s actually fun to play with.

This is a great price for this software with the rebate offer. My daughter uses this software at school and we recently purchased her a new video camera from Amazon so now she can edit her own video’s. This is really a great deal. I know there are newer versions out there, but she learned this version well and this is what she wanted. If she is happy I’m happy. . . LOL
