my machine has crashed twice since installation
the new iwork and iphoto are fun

The lows were entirely in the shipping, where the box got sent to L. A. back to it’s origin, back to L. A. , off to Kentucky, etc and eventually to me.
Was it worth the shipping fiasco? I’d rather that shipping it was as good as the product. I really love Snow Leopard and iWork.

I wanted to upgrade to Snow Leopard, but had to also buy all the other stuff I didn’t need/want, making it much pricier than necessary. I guess that’s the idea though.

I upgraded from Tiger to Snow Leopard. Was a little concerned about the upgrade from previous reviews I had read, but the installation was flawless! For me, I would have preferred to only upgrade the OS without having to purchase the other programs that came in the Box Set as I don’t use them, but it was the only way.

So I finally got around to upgrading from Tiger to Snow Leopard. How is it? In a word: awesome.
This is the best OS on the planet; Stacks and Expose activated via the Dock is pure pleasure. I’d been using another app to simulate what Stacks does on Tiger but it in no way compares to the real thing. Clicking your Applications folder on the Dock and watching it spring upwards is simply the best way to locate and run apps. No need to launch Finder, no crummy Start Menu (hiss!) to navigate. Everything is just there, a click away. Its amazing how something so small could literally change so much about how you use your computer.
And thats just one single feature of Snow Leopard. There are loads more, such as playing mp3s right from finder, zooming in on pictures and documents so you can see them without having to open them in Preview. The list goes on. Snow Leopard is nothing short of revolutionary.
iLife and iWork are also good solid companions for Snow Leopard, both packed with features and such a breeze to use. iPhoto is lovely; iMovie is essential for making and posting videos to YouTube in HD, and of course Pages for all your word processing needs.
I couldn’t be happier with this software, and I definitely couldn’t be happier with the price. Imagine Microsoft giving you Windows 7 Ultimate AND Office in a bundle for $135. Never will happen, my friends. With the Mac Box set, you get just that, plus tons of other programs in iLife.
Worth every penny.
