Digg!

Maybe it is just me but when I read “premier personal speech transcription solution” and “It’s like having your own personal transcriptionist. “, I think of something that is going to listen to what I say and transcribe it. Seems reasonable. The description I read seemed to say this was the new 2010 best thing available for speech transcription. Customer reviews on the older models were lukewarm so I thought this would be the one to try. Obviously, too much thinking on my part. Not coming with a microphone should have been a clue. I thought it did but maybe I got it confused with another product while I was studying them all. So I bought the microphone (it does not like bluetooth), installed and registered the software and I am going through the manual. It wanted a pre-made digital audio recording. But it went on to say “Note. If you do not already have a 120-second or longer audio sample, you may want to skip ahead to the section about creating spoken audio files and then return to this point in the process. ” There is no section on creating spoken audio files. The product info says, “Works with spoken-word audio recordings” and “Create text documents directly from spoken-word audio files–no more typing”. What it does not say is you apparently have to make those files somewhere else. Gee, I thought that was why I was buying this software. Had that been apparent, this is not the solution I would have chosen (because it isn’t one). It may be a wonderful product but I can’t give it any stars (1 if I am forced) because the description led me and others, I am sure, to believe this is something that it is not. I hate to be so negative but I am currently out over $160.
