After I downloaded it via the amazon d/w manger (”Download to: C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersDocumentsAmazon Games & SoftwareQW10PRM. exe”) – it failed to install (”corrupted file”). I tried this 3 times (as asked by amazon support) with the same dismal result. Do not use this service if you can avoid it.

Once I downloaded and installed Quicken 2010 it wouldn’t register the product because it is looking for and msi file which wasn’t installed. I spent several hours trying to fix it. Amazon Support could help and told me to contact the Intuit. We’ll see if they can make it work. I would suggest picking up a CD version instead of doing the download.

I had to buy this since Microsoft Money quit making their product. I am still trying to figure the program out. Sometimes when I enter amounts they get deleted. It is very frustrating when you are reconciling a bank deposit only to find that you have to go back and re-enter 20 amounts.

Three years already?? Upgraded from Quicken 2007 Premier on XP with absolutely no problems. Purchase and download from Amazon was easy. I especially liked not having to pay for “free” bundled software (which I will never use) when buying from Intuit. Amazon downloader installed with no problems and download completed within a few minutes.
Quick read of the Release Notes (Intuit website) showed no potential gotchas. So I backed up existing Quicken directory, paused my virus scanner’s “active protection” (good idea when installing large software packages from trusted source), and started the install. The install dialog warned that existing version would be deleted (as expected). Install proceeded flawlessly, even updating to current R4 release. Started Quicken, and my existing data was quickly updated to 2010 format.
The whole process was amazingly fast and trouble free. I am used to some glitch or another during major software updates, and was actually surprised that there was none this time. No system reboot required, either.
I took some time to look over my data, which goes back to 2001. Looked at program preferences. Tested various online updates (including account transaction download). All works as expected, and settings appear faithfully imported from previous version.
Best of all, this version “feels” much faster than 2007, with identical data. Initial program load is faster, and internal operations feel faster as well.
I’m quite happy with this update, and buying it via Amazon download.

Since I was setting up a new computer with Windows 7, I decided to upgrade from Quicken 2009 to a downloaded 2010. The program is full of bugs – do not purchase the download. Go for the CD. The program will not save toolbar setups and the sidebar disappeared all together. No telling what it’s doing with my financial data. I can’t wait until I try to send payments – that should be an adventure.
