I am very disappointed, and considering filing a formal complaint of grievance, as this product has not arrived after one full month. If anyone is reading this you need to contact me right away.

As an old-time, old-version user of TurboCad, I looked forward to an upgrade. I was disappointed at installation on this one. Although stated syatem requirements on the product were not clear, I felt confident that my old PC (XP Pro, Pentium 4, 3. 2Ghz, 1GB RAM, 195GB free space HD, SVGA 1680X1050 display) could handle it. There was a kink here that the buyer must be aware of!! This is DVD-ROM media and system requirements should (but don’t) include “DVD-Rom drive”, CD-ROM drive won’t do. When I received my package I was relieved to read system requirements on the box – I met all those listed. When I opened the package, I went to the User Guide,pg 1, “Systems Requirements”. That list was slightly different – it included “4X CD-Rom drive with 32 bit drivers” – OK, I still met requirements, I had a CD-ROM drive that met requirement. So I inserted the disk into the drive and waited. A blank stare from PC, so I did the Start/Save, D:setup. exe thing. A moment more of blank stare and then a pop-up – “please insert disk”. The disk WAS inserted! I guessed – this must be a DVD (not a CD). I then backtracked to the Amazon listing which did, in fact state, “Media: DVD-Rom”. Too late, I had just blown my return option and bought a useless product. For myself, “DUH”, for IMSI, “Shame on you”.

First let me say I know very little about computers or these types of programs. I bought hoping to do simple working drawings for projects I build in my metal and woodshop as hobby projects. I have read and re-read the manual and listened to the tutorial disk repeatedly and still cannot understand it. If you are similar in your skill level to me, stay away from this program, it is too difficult to learn.

    Simple to use. . . . .

No problems with the Key codes or Sign ons worked just fine. . . .

Never used CAD before and have already self taught on the simple tools . . . . .

progressing steadily on how to use some of the more complicated capabilities. . .

Go buy for the money. . . would recommend this product so far to date. . . . .

After using TurboCAD designer version 14 that I purchased retail I was pleased to discover that version 15 2/3 D is more comprehensive and and useful. The 3D features are consistent with applications like AutoCAD and SolidWorks (at least partially). The application itself is strong but the DVD based training is a bit on the weak side. Using TurboCAD previously meant that the learning curve was all but non-existent so the value of the training was minimal. . . but what if I needed it?

TurboCAD in general supports so many formats (both importing and exporting) that it makes a great tool for graphics as well as drawing production. I use it in my small business to create technical drawings (electronic, mechanical, and logical) and for creating business graphics and material for brochures. I know that if I scratch the surface a little more I could use it for other applications as well. . . and the performance of the application can be characterized as robust, no crashing application (other CAD apps have in this price range have a tendency to crash quite frequently).
